With so many approaching retirement age, but with ten to twenty years of good life still before them, the original estimates of needing 5-10 years income for retirement no longer apply. Most people now need 20-30 years retirement income.
People in retirement are healthier than previous generations and most people would prefer to spend their golden years being useful, whether volunteering for their favorite cause or starting their own company.
